Courageous Living
A wish or A courageous purpose?

Our lives are full of wishes and courageous purposes. We like them.

But often we spend our entire lives only on wishes – dying wishing.

Only few of us walk on that courageous purposes for which we were created.

What is holding us back?

Joshua provides a very encouraging example for us.  Joshua lived under the same circumstance as the rest of his people. But when God asked them to conquer the Promised Land, Joshua believed God. By contrast, the whole generation of Israel did not believe God, but wished to go to the Promised Land. Their fear turned the Promised Land into a Fantasy Land, and they died wishing.

Joshua’s courageous life can be Yours too :

Your greatness is in God.  God promised to you and all of us: “With God all things are possible” ( Matt. 19:26, Mark 10:27)   So, in your journey all things are possible with God. God told Joshua: “Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon I have given you” (Josh. 1:3).  Joshua marched in upon the basis of the promises of God.  Joshua’s greatness was in God.  He did not conquer the land by himself. You shouldn’t either. This promise is for You too. Where or what is Your Promise Land ? Do you still see it as a wish or a Fantasy Land?
Write it down. Pray to have the courage like Joshua.

God’s promises are Yours by faith.  You receive His promise by faith, and are instructed to “put on” it.
God promised to Joshua and his people:“From the wilderness … to the going down of the sun, shall be your territory” (Josh. 1:4).  The Promised Land was theirs by faith. And it happened as Joshua believed it. The door of history swung open as Joshua touched it.  Therefore, by faith you have to decide to receive it. Open the door to receive God’s promises to you. Write down the promise you struggle with and by faith own it.  God said to you too: “I have given you” (Josh. 1:3)

God is with You as He was with Joshua.  God promised You, and us, His love, care, presence or guidance. “I will not leave you nor forsake you” (Josh. 1:5).  God is with you.   Stop looking or waiting for the perfect circumstances.  God is your circumstance.  God called Joshua during a very difficult time in his life, Moses’s funeral: “The Lord [said] to Joshua: ‘Moses … is dead. Now therefore, arise, go’” (Josh. 1:1-2),     However, that did not stop Joshua from believing that God will bring life out of death and will change any circumstances for him.   Do You believe that?

Believe God and Act on His promises.  God will provide everything for You, as He did for Joshua – only believe God and act on His promises.  God didn’t give Joshua a blueprint.  God only said, within three days Joshua would cross the Jordan River to possess the land (see Josh. 1:11). Joshua believed God. But Israel feared they were too small or inferior.

Do You believe God  ?

Or your fear?

What stops you from walking in your Promise Land?

So, cast off that fear – of your circumstances, or your feelings of inferiority or your past experiences.
Your greatness lies in God.   Joshua believed God who made him courageous. He believed that the same God who was with Moses was with him.
And yes, the same God is with you.

So, acknowledge your fear and believe you have the promise by faith.  Meditate on God’s promise.  Act on it daily. Write down your journey of struggles and victories.   Be patient with yourself.   Be courageous.
Be strong and of good courage” (1:6)                           Live a courageous life.     Leave a legacy of courage!

You are called to greatness.
Your greatness will change your life and our world.
Be courageous.
