Family Research Council – FRC – EVENT

Book Release Event with Virginia Prodan, author of Saving My Assassin

As a young attorney, Virginia Prodan searched for the truth. When she finally found it in the most forbidden book in all of Romania, she accepted the divine call to defend fellow followers of Jesus Christ against unjust persecution in an ungodly land. For this act of treason, Virginia was kidnapped, beaten, tortured, and placed under house arrest, even coming within seconds of being executed under the orders of Ceausescu himself. How Virginia not only managed to defeat her enemies time and time again but also help expose the appalling secret that would lead to the demise of Ceausescu’s empire is an extraordinary story of human courage, one woman’s search for truth, and her defiance in the face of evil.

On Tuesday, June 7th at 10 a.m., author and international human rights attorney Virginia Prodan will speak about her experience as a human rights lawyer in Romania during the rise and rule of Communist Dictator, Nicolae Ceausescu. She will also comment on the disturbing parallels she sees regarding religious liberty in Romania during the ’80s and what is happening in America today.

This event will mark the official release of Virginia’s new book, Saving My Assassin (Tyndale House). Reading like a novel and filled with intrigue and surprises, Virginia’s book communicates well the spirit of her surroundings while she daily risked her life in Romania.

FRC President Tony Perkins wrote, “Virginia Prodan stood fearlessly against an oppressive communist regime and the lawless leadership of Nicolae Ceausescu. She chose to obey God rather than man and changed the course of history! Virginia mastered her fear of earthly consequences for the glory of God and now inspires her readers. Beyond inspiration, Saving My Assassin is a call to action: to live above fear — and to witness the miraculous. I believe this is the message for this generation of Believers, we must rise above the fear of man to see a miraculous move of God.”
