Spring brings Hope, Courage and Victory for the future !  Spring helps us to see life in a better way.

We all have Spring traditions.  Today, this is my Spring favorite tradition:

But,  as a child, in Romania, where I was born, this was my favorite Spring tradition.

On March 1, Romanians celebrate the coming of Spring – with Martisor.

Women and girls receive Martisor on March 1, from men or boys, as a symbol of their respect and admiration.

Martisor is made from two twisted threads of wool, one colored red and one white.

The red represents the summer, and the heat, while the white represents the winter, and the cold.
Women wear the martisor all March, to bring strength and health for the year to come.

At the end of March, – Martisor – the red-white threads are tied to a branch of a fruit tree, to bring wealth.

Now, living in Texas  for almost 29 years, my favorite tradition is – our state flower – the bluebonnets!

Do you know that the bluebonnets are found growing naturally only in Texas and at no other location in the world ?

Historian Jack Maguire wrote, “It’s not only the state flower but also a kind of floral trademark almost as well known to outsiders as cowboy boots and the Stetson hat.”

He believed that “The bluebonnet is to Texas what the shamrock is to Ireland, the cherry blossom to Japan, the lily to France, the rose to England and the tulip to Holland.

Correct !           In Texas we love, treasure and protect those bluebonnets.

Now is your turn.         Which one of those is YOUR favorite Spring tradition?

Do you have a very special one?    A favorite one?

Would like to hear from you. Thank you in advance.
