URGENT !
Today Gov. Abbott will give his State of the State address in Austin.
We encourage you to join many of us, Family Research Council Action and Texas Values in making your voice heard today!
Please contact Gov. Abbott, or your State Senator and tell them to support the Texas Privacy Act (SB 6)!
Here is why and how:
“Today, Governor Greg Abbott will give his State of the State Address at the Texas Capitol. While Governor Abbott will no doubt address many important issues facing our state, one of the most important issues being discussed statewide is the Texas Privacy Act (SB 6).
SB 6 protects a common sense Texas value — men shouldn’t be allowed in restrooms or locker rooms with little girls. Please contact Governor Abbott and your State Senator today and tell them you support the Texas Privacy Act that will protect the privacy, safety and dignity of Texans in bathrooms, locker rooms, and other intimate facilities.
Governor Abbott has stood with the Texas people on this issue before when he supported Houston voters voting down a dangerous bathroom ordinance that would have allowed men into women’s bathrooms, 61% – 39%. Now with the opportunity to pass SB 6 and protect every woman and child in Texas, tell Governor Abbott you boldly support the Texas Privacy Act.
The radical LGBT lobby, in partnership with the liberal Texas Association of Business, has already launched a smear campaign against this common sense bill. We need your help to ensure Governor Abbott knows you and the people of Texas want to be heard on this important issue.
Here is the truth about the Texas Privacy Act:
Senator Lois Kolkhorst filed SB 6 to protect the privacy, safety and dignity of Texans in bathrooms, locker rooms, and other intimate facilities in all government buildings, including public schools. The bill makes it clear that government entities may not allow biological men in girls’ bathrooms and changing facilities, based on a person’s birth certificate. The bill also protects the rights of private business to set their own policies free from government interference. Read a full analysis of SB 6 here.
Momentum continues to build for the legislation in the Texas Senate as Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick has made it a top legislative priority and as Senators Bettencourt, Birdwell, Buckingham, Campbell, Creighton, Estes, Hall, Hancock, Huffines, Hughes, Nichols, Perry, L. Taylor, and V. Taylor have signed on as coauthors to the legislation.
